This is a can't miss session for those who have charitably minded clients with complex assets, such as privately-held C-and S-Corp stock, limited partnership interests, and certain publicly-traded stock, to public charities. These assets can often be the most highly appreciated assets in a client's portfolio and contributing them to charity can potentially minimize capital gains exposure while taking an income tax deduction equal to the full current market value of the donated asset, not just the cost basis.

Join charitable giving veterans from Fidelity Charitable for thought-provoking presentation to learn about the growing trend of contributing complex assets. The learning objectives for this CE/CPE* eligible session include:

  • Examples of complex assets that may qualify
  • Tax treatment and Tax Bunching strategies
  • Gifting strategies for business owners with illiquid stock
  • How clients can gift home or other real estate
  • How clients can support multiple charities with one gift

*CE Eligible: One CE credit will be submitted to the CFP Board on behalf of attendees. Complete certificates are also provided to attendees for self- reporting for those with American College designations (CLU, CHFC and RICP), CIMA, and NAPFA members.
