The pandemic accelerated existing trends, increasing the use of digital giving tools and refocusing the charitable causes that donors see as most important.
Charitable giving platforms, like GoFundme.com, allow donors to socialize the causes they support and raise donations through the use of Giving Circles. Giving Circles are formed by like-minded people who pool their resources to support causes they all support. It's estimated that 13% of all charitable donations are made online and giving circles account for over $1 billion in annual donations.
