A funeral and burial costs $8,300 on average, but end-of-life expenses can easily cost your client and their family so much more. While we advise clients to set aside funds for retirement, healthcare, or leaving a legacy, the cost of a funeral is often overlooked as something that should be planned for. Plus, the emotional toll death takes on the family makes figuring out how to finance the funeral at the time of need all the more difficult.
In this webinar, The Krause Agency’s National FET and Preneed Director, Damon Wenig, MBA, CFSP, will explore the common ways your clients can proactively set aside funds for their funerals, including final expense insurance, funeral expense trusts, and preneed insurance. Damon will also cover:
* How the proceeds of the policy are access and what services they can cover
* When a funeral home does or does not need to be involved with funeral pre-planning
* How certain insurance products are treated in relation to long-term care Medicaid eligibility
As a funeral director himself, Damon offers a unique perspective on how an advisor or agent can play a role in protecting the client’s retirement plan through funeral pre-planning and the positive impact this planning has for both the client and their family.
