Long-term care is no longer a conversation advisors can afford to postpone. Nationwide’s 2026 research shows that cost remains consumers’ leading long-term care concern, while many households are still uncertain about how care will be funded, coordinated, and delivered. Clients increasingly prefer care at home, worry about becoming a burden on family members, and often underestimate the emotional, financial, and logistical demands placed on caregivers.
Presented by Shawn Britt of Nationwide, this webinar will examine findings from the Nationwide Retirement Institute® 2026 Long-Term Care Survey and translate them into practical planning conversations for financial professionals. Attendees will explore how clients are thinking about caregiving, insurance, home-based care, family involvement, and funding strategies—and why advisors who can help clients navigate future care costs may strengthen both client outcomes and relationships. Nearly three-quarters of survey respondents said they would be likely to switch to an advisor who could help them navigate long-term care costs if their current advisor could not.
