The location of assets in qualified and nonqualified account to minimize taxes has a significant impact on the success of clients plan. This session features financial/tax planner Andy Panko leading a review of strategies that can help clients minimize their taxes, along with the pros and cons of holding assets in traditional IRAs, Roth IRAs and taxable accounts.

The learning objectives include:

  • The differences in account types
  • How contributions, growth and distributions are taxed in each account type
  • Which asset types are best suited for which account types
  • Transferring money or positions within account types and across account types
  • Using the different account types to create a tax-efficient retirement income strategy

CE Eligible: Yes. CE is automatically submitted (for subscribers) to the CFP Board. Complete certificates are also provided to subscribers for self reporting for those with American College designations (CLU, CHFC and RICP), a CPA license and NAPFA members.
