This is the first time I've seen an apples-to-apples comparison between a VA with income rider and FIA with income rider comparison that was without obvious bias.
Nick

I learned more about "living benefits" and the mechanics of them. I learned about the 'cumulative income" & "the benefit base as well as how the payout percentages work. I also learned when living benefits should & shouldn't be used.
Darn

loved the actual withdrawal examples - great presentation!
SMC

Really appreciated the thorough breakdown of what living benefit riders are and how they work. Found the info on what constitutes an "excess withdrawal" interesting.
Chris

Good explanations of how living benefits are calculated and terms; helpful contrast between fixed index annuities and "variable" annuities.
Leisa

The excessive withdrawals info was new info for me and to learn that it can eliminate or greatly harm the GLWB for annuity was super helpful.

Presented by Scott Stolz, CFP, RICP, Simon Markets
Scott Stolz

While annuities are most often thought of for the income stream, there are optional principal protection benefits, known as living benefits, that offer clients exposure to the market's upside while protecting their account values and future income streams against the effects of a market decline.

Listen to annuity veteran Scott Stolz to learn the three basic types of living benefits: Guaranteed lifetime withdrawal benefit (GLWB); Guaranteed minimum income benefit (GMIB) and Guaranteed minimum accumulation benefit (GMAB).
