How do you know when a client who seems to be struggling with memory loss can still manage his or her finances? How can you help a family make a good decision about whether that family member can continue to manage the finances?
During this workshop, we’ll share a tool developed by Plans4Care that generates an Everyday Function Scale which offers insights into the abilities of a person with dementia. The scale offers guidance as to whether or not a person with dementia can still manage money, for instance. The Everyday Function Scale can help you and your clients make informed decisions to protect those with memory loss and a dementia diagnosis.
Denise M. Brown, who develops caregiving coaching programs, will be joined by Sandra D. Adams, CFP®, partner with Center for Financial Planning, Inc., and Eric Jutkowitz, PhD, co-founder of Plans4Care. They’ll share how a financial planner could use the Everyday Function Scale with clients and when it may be helpful to refer clients to coaches, like Certified Caregiving Consultants, for more personalized support. They’ll walk through a case study of how the tool supported a family impacted by a dementia diagnosis.
