This session featured Larry Pon, CPA and Financial Experts member, sharing the details of a 1031 Real Estate Exchange he helped a 70-year-old couple execute. Larry thoughtfully reviewed the client facts and the options they considered, to include DSTs (Delaware Statutory Trust) and Qualified Opportunity Zones. The clients eventually chose to sell their California rental property and invest in a Texas property with Triple Net Lease. This strategy increased the client's annual income by $60,000 and helped them avoid over $665,000 in taxes!
